At the beginning of 2000, both the training meadow and the public golf course started to be used; from the very beginning, their utilization was considerably higher than in the previous year. Especially the golf course available to public started to be frequently used by beginners as well as relatively experienced golfers. However, this situation also increased both interest in training on the training meadow and golfers' interest in the rules and ethics of golf. People started to understand that they had to follow good manners when on the golf course. The golf course was officially opened on 13th May 2000; at the same time, the club started to function. Apart from the representatives of both municipality and regional authorities, the opening ceremony was also attended by the president of the Czech Golf Federation at that time, Mr. Hanuš Goldscheider.
On 19th August 2000, the first "Hlubocký čáp" tournament was organized on the public golf course.

The interest in golf in Hluboká was substantially increasing and therefore a decision to build an 18-hole PAR 71 golf course with a length of 5 900 m on the Podskalská louka meadow in Hluboká was made.The 9-hole golf course has been run as "public" golf course for 4 years; last year, the 18-hole golf course was completed and prepared to be opened on 7th September 2002. Briefly about the present situation

The Golf Club in Hluboká nad Vltavou pays great attention to the youth; e.g. so-called "preparatory school for young golfers" has been established; in the future, the club plans to organize golf classes for secondary-school students. So-called "Beginners' Afternoons" were newly established in the 2004 season; they regularly took place every Wednesday from the beginning of May, always from 02:00 – 05:00 PM. These afternoons were aimed at all people who would like to try golf "on their own skin" and thus acquaint themselves with this sport.

Our teams of male golfers, female golfers and junior golfers take part in national competitions; our team of male golfers will try to move up to Top League this year. Contests with partner clubs not only from the Czech Republic but also from Austria are organized regularly. Tours to Austria and Italy, where club tournaments and contests with local golf clubs take place, are organized for our club members. We can say that these activities contribute to the successful development of club life.
